Description

The Cefn Cribwr section of Sustrans National Cycle Route 4 A long distance route between London and Fishguard via Reading, Bath, Bristol, Newport, Bridgend, Swansea, Carmarthen, Tenby, Haverfordwest and St. Davids.

The cycle path links the former ironworks at Tondu and Bedford Park, this route passes through the Parc Slip Nature Park which is home to a wealth of wildlife including rare wading birds and many species of butterfly, damselfly and dragonfly.

Start and or finish your trip at Parc Slip Wildlife Trust Visitor Centre, where a bike rack, toilets and refreshments are available.

A 4km stretch of the Route 4 and Celtic Trail East passes through Parc Slip Nature Reserve. Continue on to Bedford Park and discover the industrial heritage of this site with the impressive Bedford Iron Works. This stretch of track is also well-maintained, traffic free and tranquil, passing through grassland and woodland.
