  • Nottage Circular Walk

Description

 A Circular Walk starting at Nottage Village Green (Grid Reference SS81939 78184)and taking you through the countryside around Nottage. The walk is approximately 4km (2½ miles) long and you should allow 1½ hours to complete it. Allow a bit more time to enjoy the views of the countryside. The walk uses maintainable highway throughout.

Route: Start at Nottage Village Green and continue through the countryside around Nottage taking in Ty Talbot Farm, St David's Well , Nottage Holt, Moor Lane, West Road and West Park School

Suitability: Not suitable for wheelchairs/buggies, small children or cyclists and horses.

Car Parking: There are three public Houses in Nottage -  The Swan, The Rose & Crown and the Farmers Arms, each with its own car parking. There is also on-street parking in Nottage.

ADVICE AND INFORMATION
The going is relatively flat though it may be wet and steep in places. The grassy verges alongside busy West Road are steep in places requiring extreme care  to stay off the road, especially when wet. Remember to wear suitable clothes and good shoes/boots and take food and drink with you and be prepared to get fit!

When you are walking on minor roads keep to the right and make use of verges whenever you can. It should be easy to follow the route using the guide. When walking the route try and look out for the Walk logo that will be situated on stiles, gates and posts along the route. Directional waymarks with arrows will assist you as to which direction to walk in once you are on a public right of way. We also recommend you refer to the OS Explorer Map 151 Cardiff & Bridgend.
