This beach is next to Coney Beach and a five minute walk away from Trecco Bay Holiday Park which has excellent entertainment facilities.
Best Features: A large sandy Blue Flag beach with excellent water quality. Although only a few minutes from the Holiday Park, it is relatively quiet.
Lifeguard cover? Lifeguards patrol from May to September, but remember No Flag, No Patrol
Local Facilities and shops: No facilities or shops, although the Trecco Bay Holiday Complex is a few minutes walk away and offers a wide variety of refreshments and entertainment.
Great for kids? No facilities on the beach for children, but Trecco Bay Holiday Complex has an amusement arcade, mini golf, Splashland swimming pool, Jungle Jims, a park and various other amusements to keep the kids entertained.
How far are the toilets? The closest toilets are in Trecco Bay Holiday Complex.
Parking: There is no designated car park although there is a small car park at the rear of the Holiday complex close to the beach.
Public Transport: A ten minute walk from Newton village, easily reached by public transport Bus services to/from Porthcawl provided by First Bus. Alight at the Globe garage. Various direct services run from Bridgend, Cardiff (X2) and Swansea.
How about pets? Dogs are not allowed on the beach from May1st to September 31st.
Where is it? Trecco Bay can be reached either via the Trecco Bay Holiday Complex or by walking from Newton beach, which is only a few minutes walk away. To access the beach via Trecco Bay Holiday Complex, leave the M4 at J37 and follow the signs to Porthcawl. As you come into Porthcawl you will see information signs directing you to the holiday complex.
